Raw Papaya Kootu
Try this style Raw Papaya Kootu , which is a mix of cooked raw papayas and Split green gram . A freshly ground spice paste adds much flavour to the dish.

Ingredients
- 100 gms Raw papaya Chopped
- 50 gms Split green gram
- 2 Nos Onion Medium Size Chopped
- 2 Nos Tomatoes finely chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 no Green chilli
- 1 tbsp Gingelly oil use cold press
- 1 stalk Curry leaves
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves Finely chopped
- 50 ml Coconut milk
- ½ tbsp Mustard seeds
- ½ tbsp Split Black Gram
- 150 ml Water
- As Required Salt
Instructions
- Clean papaya by removing skin and seeds
- Wash with sufficient water to remove the stiky milk in it
- Cut papaya in to cubes
- Cook the split green gram in a vessel with 100 ml of water until half cooked
- Add the papaya to the green gram and cook thoroughly
- Heat oil in a pan and temper mustard seeds, Black gram and curry leaves
- Fry onion, green chilli and tomatoes
- Add turmeric and coriander powder, cook for 5 minutes by adding water
- Add the cooked papaya, green gram and salt
- Cook until the curry comes to a boil, remove from stove
- Add the coconut milk and chopped coriander, serve hot.
