Puttu
Puttu served with kadala kari is one of the most popular breakfast combination from Kerala. Puttu is basically a steamed rice flour and coconut log. The combination of soft puttu with kadala kari (black chickpeas curry) is awesome . Traditionally puttu was made in bamboo logs and this gave the puttu a lovely aroma.

Ingredients
- 2 Cups Red Rice
- 1 tbsp (As Required) Salt
- 4 tbsp Coconut Grated
- 1 Cup (As Required) Water
Instructions
- Soak rice for two hours. Wash, filter, dry and Make it fine powder.
- Fry the flour in a pan and allow it to cool.
- Add salt and water to the Rice Flour that was already done and make a mixture (Without any lumps).
- Steam cook the mixture (In Puttu Vessel ) along with the grated coconut & serve

Note
In the same method, prepare puttu using Finger millet (Ragi) flour, Wheat flour, Wheat rava, Pearl millet (Kambu) flour.
Puttu tastes good when mixed with jaggery.
