Green Gram and Bottle Gourd Kootu

Ingredients
- 100 gms Green gram
- 100 gms Bottle gourd
- 2 nos Tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Cumin powder
- 1 pinch Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tbsp Split black gram
- 1 stalk Curry Leaves
- 1 Pinch Asafoetida
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves Chopped
- to taste Salt
- 100 ml Water
Instructions
- cook the split green gram with 100 ml of water, turmeric and a few drops of oil until half done
- Add Bottle gourd to the above and cook thoroughly
- Add salt and cumin powder and asafoetida
- Heat oil in a pan and temper mustard seeds, black gram and curry leaves, add to the above
- Garnish with chopped coriander
- Serve hot with rice and sambar or rasam
